Clean the inside of the mouth

From the first days following birth, clean the inside of the mouth of the infant with a small damp washcloth to remove deposits and bacteria that live there, while gently massaging the gums. When the first tooth has erupted, making a brushing twice a day using a small brush with soft bristles and a hint of toothpaste (about the size of a grain of rice). Choose a fluoride toothpaste for children, because they are reluctant to mint flavor. The toothbrush should be changed as soon as the bristles are bent. As microorganisms can lodge in the bottom of the brush between the bristles and the basis of these, the toothbrush become contaminated should also be changed. (Example: high fever, contagious disease, use by another child, contact with another brush, etc.).
Food
The baby food influence on the formation of its permanent teeth, which are already undergoing training under his gum. Avoid sugary drinks and limit the amount of juice because they promote acidic conditions conducive to decay.
If your child must take medication, it is suggested to rinse the mouth and brushing his teeth after eating them because most contain a high sugar content.
Thumb sucking
Thumb sucking is normal in babies. But we must ensure that this practice cease gradually before the eruption of permanent teeth to prevent the improper positioning of the teeth. Your dental hygienist and your dentist will guide you and help you find solutions.
